Ye i do, if made with enough cheese or a variety of cheeses it can be a great addition to a meat dish :slurp:

The polenta served at the Brown Derby isn't really polenta, the Italian dish as we know it across the rest of the world....

While I haven't seen real polenta anywhere at the world, I can tell you that Raglan Road now has the best Risotto I've ever had anywhere....a new addiction....

I'm pretty sure they serve polenta with the pork tenderloin at California Grill! My husband had it last week and it was very tasty-- goat cheese in it I believe.:slurp:

Sorry.

You know about polenta? Respect index went up a good seven notches :). I'm of Sicilian extraction - LOVE polenta. But haven't really seen it at WDW... I'll be watching the advice of others :).

"Italian cornmeal", indeed...! How about those US rat tubes (I think others may refer to them as "Hot Dogs").

I keep apologising to you, sorry, but I always thought it was classed as Italian cornmeal? Then again as a Scotsman who loves his haggis,I should know better to respect other national dishes.

Tutto Gusto has a small plate that's polenta topped with mushrooms & fontina cheese. I didn't order it when I was there last weekend, but someone at the table next to me did. It looked awesome! Will definitely be trying that the next time I go there.

I posted the BD. I had the salmon dish in 2008. I don't remember "polenta cake". I remember polenta. I'll have to look back at my meal pictures.

They used to serve it at Coral Reef.

Don't know if they flat out don't have it anymore or if you're still able to order it even though it's not on the menu.

Polenta is a staple in our home. I have yet to see/taste it in the World.

There are so many ways to enjoy it! I like it as a "mash" smothered in cabbage, onions, potatoes, parma cheese in a light marinara sauce or just rolled out chilled, cubed, fried and salted!:slurp:

Polenta is like cous cous - in that a plate of "plain" polenta, like a plate of "plain" cous cous is, well, pretty plain.

There are dozens of ways to make polenta, both as a "porrige" of sorts or cooking it, chilling it to firm, and then slicing and baking, frying, breading, or any other way of preparing it.

Most of the time it has something else in it, cheese, fungus, veggies, ... something.

If you just boiled plain polenta in water and ate it, you missed out on quite a bit.

Give it another go.

I had polenta in an appetizer @ Le Cellier a while back.

It was the Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage - with Roasted Corn Polenta and Sweet Onion Jam! Yummy!:slurp:
