Points from rental returned?

I rented out all of my December 2022 points last year. I used an agency and the last renter was supposed to check in on Saturday. Checked my account yesterday and there are points back in my 2022 UY! 🤔 Looking at my activity summary, it shows that the reservation had been "canceled" on check in day and points were added back and then two manual adjustments were made the following day; the first was an adjustment to "banked points" which added even more to my account and the second was an adjustment to "hold points" which took the same number of points away.

So now I'm confused (admittedly an easy thing to do). Was the guest a no-show? Or was this a case where the booked HA room was not available and the guest was moved elsewhere to accommodate their needs? Just wondering why there are points back in my account.

Mystery solved!

Apparently, the guest had 2 concurrent reservations in their name at the same resort. The resort canceled the reservation that I had made and the guest used the other one. DVC generously returned my points (which were banked from the previous UY) and took them out of holding.

Unfortunately, I have a December UY and very little time left to use the points myself. They were 2021 points banked into 2022, so no chance of even asking for a one-time exception to the banking deadline.

i know its short notice and last i checked nothing was available for all 3 nights, but i'm going 10/12-10/15 in case there are those 3 nights available somewhere. I don't want to jump around given the short stay.

Can I ask what agency you used?
It was DVC Rental Store.

Yes, getting anything for a weekend between now and Christmas will be tough. Saturdays are the hardest. Almost everyone wants Saturday.

Did you still get paid?
Yes. I still got paid. That's why I don't care that the points will just go unused. It would have been nice if the renter had contacted the agency when they realized that they had 2 reservations for the same night. It's possible that those points could have been used for another renter and they would have gotten a credit toward a future reservation. This reservation was made nearly 11 months in advance.
