POFQ rooms

We'll be there for our anniversary in September and I had a question about the FQ rooms. I would like to request a room that has a view of the river that goes to DtD. I know that we're booked in a "garden view" room and requests are not guaranteed, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. So what rooms or building(s) should I request? Thanks for any input!

Like Joe said, it is an upgrade option (for a price.)

Buildings 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 all have some rooms that face the river. Buildings 2 and five are the ones that flank the pool area. Building 7 is the furthest from the pool and main resort building.

When I stayed at POFQ it was in a standard room so I haven't stayed in a river view yet. I will also be staying there in September, and was only able to get free dining in a river view so I'm looking forward to that. From what I've read though, building 5 and 7 are good buildings for river view rooms. My mom and stepdad stayed there in 2010, and they paid for a standard room, but was placed in a river view room in Building 7 and they loved it! They were pleasantly surprised that they were facing the river, rather than a parking lot. You can pay for the upgrade, like others have mentioned.

Building 2 is by the boat launch to go to DtD which is very handy had a top floor corner room which had 2 sets of windows and looked out to boat launch. I was afraid it would be a lot of noise from boats but you can barely hear them. Buildings 6 and 7 are nice kind of away from the hub (pool and food court) but not a bad walk up to hub and it's a short walk over to Riverside for meals (they have more of a selection in their food court) or just to look around.:)

I know I can pay to upgrade, I'm just hopefully wishing for a "magical" upgrade for our anniversary. Now before anyone breaks out the pitchforks, I'm not expecting it, I just have my fingers crossed.

It does happen, it happened to my mom & stepdad and they were very surprised they went from a standard to river view at no extra cost. Did you note on your reservation that you will be celebrating your anniversary while you're there? That may help.

If it's early Sept it may not be a problem, right after Labor Day it's pretty slow so they may up grade you to river view without charging you. It's happened to me a couple of times. I love going after Labor Day not as crowded!! Later in Sept seems like a lot of schools are starting fall break.

Indeed, it is noted on our package that it's an anniversary trip. I'm just hoping, but not counting on it.

/edit Yes, we're going to be there from September 15th until the 22nd.
