POFQ Question

I have reservations for POFQ. I asked for a King bed and my reservations do state that. I just read a review on another board that states the King size bed is not guaranteed.

Anyone know if that is true, this would be a major issue for us as we are rather on the plus size.

Thanks

At POFQ, King beds are guaranteed because you are paying extra for it. In other words, King bed rooms are a separate room category, like water view. You should not have to request a King bed room if you have booked that category. If your reservation says you have a King bed room, then by golly you will get it. :animwink:

This causes confusion because at other resorts (values, for example) a King bed is a request. Which, as all of us Disney geeks know, is just that: a request, not a guarantee. The mods are different in that the King bed rooms can be guaranteed, at an extra cost. Hope this helps!

It does. Your answer is what I thought. When I saw the review on the other board from yesterday it worried me. They said they had asked for a king room at time of reservation but when they checked in they got 2 double beds.

This will be our engagement trip (she doesn't know), and not a real big fan of double beds

They probably didn't pay the extra to book the King bed room, and instead just requested it. Again, confusion because most people don't realize that at the moderates, a King bed can be guaranteed by paying extra. I think it is an extra $15 per night.

Have a great trip and congrats on your upcoming engagement. Please post a trip report when you get back!

I just noticed you were from Mass. I grew up there and only live a little bit north now in NH. We are driving down. Leaving in 5 days but whose counting.

Ha, too funny. I grew up in MA and live 3 miles from the NH border now.

I wonder if we know each other. :lookaroun

Good luck with the drive; you are brave. The farthest I drive is to Logan or Manchester.

Little chilly tonight, huh? :hurl:

POFQ is a wonderful resort. My DH and I stayed there on our honeymoon. The one thing I really enjoyed about the resort was the pools. We went swimming after a day at the park. About 1/2 hr before the pool closed and there was only 3 other people in the pool with us. It was so nice, relaxing and peaceful.

Enjoy your trip!

Im wondering the same thing. Im leaving Saturday and my whole family has packed their swim suits . I hope we can.

The pools are heated and the hot tubs always feel great. My kids have swam in January, February, etc. It wouldn't be a complete vacation for them without a visit to the pool!

It's unseasonably freakin' cold down here this year. We've had the heater on for the past 2 weeks:eek:! We leave in 6 days and looks like we may NOT be able to swim this time:mad:. I know the pools are heated, but that doesn't help when you're zippin' down the slide!!! DS has a full wetsuit, so maybe that'll help him at least. In the middle of the day, when the sun is bright and shiny, it usually helps:)

They may have been confused when they said the king bed is not guarenteed because in the Value resorts the king bed rooms are generally reserved for handicapped accessible rooms.

POFQ is a beautiful resort and one of the most romantic on property in my opinion. If you get the chance take a walk by the water over to Riverside. You can also book yourself a 30 minute carriage ride at Riverside to have any extra special thing to do while you are there. The cost is about $35 and can be made by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

Have a wonderful time and congratulations on your upcoming engagement!!
