We will be there in the middle of Oct. Just got word they closed the café for a long refurb and no date set to open other then fall. Has anyone seen an average of how long it really does take? Hoping it wont take 4 months to refurb it. Any thoughts?

There is no end date as you know but yes refurbishments an extensive/lengthy one like it says for this one, can take 4-6 months easily. They will have a QS area set up at the Scat Cat Club with many popular items that was at the regular location.

I read about this this morning. So glad, I did not book POFQ. We were originally going to stay there when we were a party of 5. I would have booked two rooms. However, our party increased to 7, and now we booked 3 rooms at Pop Century.

I know...:-( I love French Quarter, tried to move to the Bayou on Riverside but we as well need 3 rooms for party of 7. So we are gonna cross our fingers and hope hope hope and stay put. But surely hope. It is Disney so we will make the best of it but its a bummer.

we changed to this resort after originally being booked for AOA. thinking of going back

We're going in November so hopefully it will be complete by then. We don't go to the food court much at all so it's not a big enough deal for us to switch. Hopefully the Scat Cat Club will have beignets. That's all I really care about. LOL

Get a room at the closest building to POR. You will be pretty close to Riverside food court. Pleasant walk.

Building 7 is the closest to POR. The walk from there to Riverside Mill Food Court is 5-7 minutes at a leisurely pace.

I'm in the same boat, we normally only use the food court for breakfast, so we will either need to go over to Riverside or plan for breakfast in the parks.

I'm sure it will be true. The temporary location is in a former table service restaurant with its own kitchen. When the quick serve at the Poly was being refurbished, hot food (including breakfast) was available in the cast members lounge.
