Plus Size In Disney

I'm in the 290 range, and the only ride I've had any problem with lately has been the Astro Orbiter in Tomorrowland. I fit in the vehicle just fine, but getting out can be problematic.

I feel your pain, gurl. I'm between 200-215 and I've never had a problem riding MYSELF; however, when I rode The Barnstormer last year with my 3-year-old, there was a shared lap bar which OBVIOUSLY didn't squish down enough on my fat A to really secure her. I was terrified she was going to go flying out. I put my arm around her and held on tight and she was fine... but man, that scared the crap out of me. I don't know how they think that is safe!

I am not pooh sized. But more like the bear in jungle book. I am 6 ft tall and weigh about 320. I would like to know if I can fit in soarin and mission space at Epcot.

You should have no problems at all, but if you are worried check out allears.net there is a whole section called Disney at Large and it tells you almost anything you need to know about fitting on anything even info on shows and restraint chairs. I can' imagine you having problems though because I'm fat and I have seen people way bigger than me fit on rides.

Thanx again everyone. Tomorrow is our first day at the parks (I was too exhausted to go today) so I hope all goes well, but I came prepared. I have about 5 girdles and I will wear them if need be lol

My husband is 6'5" and 275 lbs. He has no problems at all on Soarin. Mission Space is a little tight for him, especially with leg room, but he still rides it without issues.

On our last trip to DLR in 2013, I was 210 and 5'1" so I was a little worried about fitting some things but I fit everything just fine. A funny note though, We were in the Matterhorn bobsled and as the ride started through the tunnel, I felt something "snap" from around my waist where the belt was and I panicked until I realized that it was just my hip pack(yeah I wear one!, So sue me LOL) and not the restraint but I had a good 30secs of panicking and pushing my feet as hard as I could against the floor of the sled. After that, I switched to my swingpack purse. LOL

Not anymore, but, I, at one point was at 335 with no issues at all in Disney. Universal was a different story, but, I only found two there that were a problem and that was Harry Potter and The Mummy! I'm not sure about the Rocket thing. Didn't need to know. You couldn't have gotten me on that at gunpoint.:jawdrop:
Do you remember which Harry Potter ride you had trouble with? Thanks!

250, 6'3, 42 waist, zero problems on any WDW attraction including Dwarf train.

Off topic but always remember when this topic comes up -- Six Flags over Texas FlashBack was a spine crushing rat . Glad they tore it out! Only ride that made me tear up from pain. More of a height issue than girth.

The original... Forbidden Journeys maybe? The one in the castle. They had test seats by the entrance. At the time I was a lot heavier and missed being able to ride by about a quarter inch. If I could have held my breath for the duration, I might have been able to ride it, but, I didn't figure it worth the risk of passing out.

I know which one you mean; thanks!

I'm happy to report that I have yet to have any issues with fitting on the rides (besides leg room). I have a FP for the mine train tomorrow so let's see how that goes

OK, my partner is 6'10", 410#, would he have problems getting on Space Mountain, Rocking Roller Coaster, 7DMT or even Peter Pan? He has never been and I don't want to embarrass him.

I'd say yeah, at that size he'd have trouble on a lot of the attractions, particularly the SDMT. A lot of attractions have a test car out front that you can try before standing in line. Use them!
