All US sockets use B type receptacles 120 Volts 60 Hz.

A plugs can be used in B receptacles.
B plugs can not be used in A Receptacles.

The U.K. does not use Type D, whatever that site might say.

Our shaving sockets use round holes but our normal outlets have three rectangular sockets.
Shaving sockets here are like type c in the diagram. Type D looks more like a South African plug.

The UK design (rectangular three pin with live and neutral part insulated) is also used in other mainly ex British countries including Malta, Cyprus, Hong Kong and UAE

There are a variety of plug adapter kits online that can be purchased when you run into a situation that needs a different plug set up.
