I am going back to DisneyWorld for a couple of days for the first time since my college program. How will I get into work since I don't have my ID? Will I get my ID before my shift? Also, if I want to stay in a Disney hotel will I get my ID in time to get the cast member discount?

Thanks for your help!

You'll have to get an ID from access control before your shift. In order to do that, a manager from your area will have to send them an e-mail. Contact one of your area managers to start the process in motion. Note that if you get a red CT ID, you'll need to have your picture taken and, thus, will need to be in Disney Look when you go to Access Control. As far as your resort goes, you may want to call the Cast reservation line and ask them. Shoot me a PM if you don't know the number.

I'm afraid I'm not sure exactly how Entertainment does things. If you happen to have a phone number for an Entertainment office of some sort, start there.

I believe the standard procedure is now to give all Seasonal/CT CMs red CT IDs. (I wonder if I could have crammed any more abbreviations into that sentence...) The red IDs expire at the end of the calendar year in which they're issued. If you work during the month of December, you can pick up a renewal sticker at Access Control. After the first week of January, you'll need a memo from your area to renew the ID.

When I went down to work last summer, I was expecting a white ID and got a red one instead. I was told that it was the new SOP, though, knowing Disney, that may have since changed.

yup that's right- I got a red ID and it was good until the end of the year, when I go back this summer i'll just need a new sticker. Last summer I stayed on property and I believe I just showed them my current maingate and either my drivers license or my old CP ID, don't remember which. I didn't have any problems though. As far as the work requirement for entertainment- I was told one shift, but I've always worked more when I'm down there so I can't guarantee that's right.

You will need to show your Cast Member ID when you check in at your hotel. I would go FIRST to access control, and THEN to your hotel to check in (assuming you'll be doing all of this on your first day there).

My manager told me that I can show them my old expired CP ID when I check-in especially since I'm flying in next week (monday night) at 9:30 so Access Control will be closed. I will be going Tuesday morning to get my seasonal ID so I can work that night and visit the parks during the day. And if they really want, I can show them my seasonal ID before I check-out I persume too.
