We just checked in for 9 nights at the Poly. We love the new theming but the thermostat in the room will not allow the temp below 68 degrees. We like in cold when we sleep. Anyone know of a way to get the thermostat to get the room cooler. Thanks.

I have read here on the forums that the air is triggered by a motion sensor and that it turns off when you are not in the room or sleeping, I have also heard a fix to this is to buy a balloon and tie it close to the thermostat where there is a sensor, with the air circulating and moving the balloon it triggers the sensor to keep the air on, I hope this helps, it worked for us at the Beach and Yacht club, enjoy the POLY

We are looking at going to the poly for three nights … we are undecided between beach club /Floridian and poly??? Could you post any pics to help us out … we are looking at a 5th sleeper room. Are the new rooms and updated hotel features as nice as people suggest?
hioe you get the thermostat sorted!

Admittedly, this is a strange choice for my first post.
I never set my ac lower than 70. The manual for our new system says that setting it lower can result in freezing of the evaporator coils.
An online search says that some systems have a lower threshold ranging from 65-68 degrees. I would guess that if the thermostat in your room can't be set lower than 68, that could be the lowest setting that is safe for the system.

Strange, one can go to a Days Inn and turn on the manual AC to ice cold freezing temps if one chooses.

Stayed at the Beach Club Villas and had the opposite issue. The fan blew freezing cold on the couch bed and my grandsons were freezing. There used to be a fan in the room that you could turn off and on but now this is part of the A/C system. Maintenance person said the fan is associated with the temperature so if you want it cool for sleeping you have the full blast fan, if you turn up the temperature to turn down the fan it is way too hot.
