Please Help plan Eastern Caribbean

Hello! I was hoping some you would have some advice for me ... My mom, aunt and myself are going on the Easter Caribbean cruise in May. We have to ports (St. Maarten and St. Thomas), besides Castaway Cay of course. I was wondering which excursions you have taken at these ports of call and what you thought of them. My travel companions are not really into the boating/snorkeling excursions, though I would still love thoughts on those. I have six days until my "90-days out" for reservations. Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Hollyb! I'm going on this same cruise again in May but this time we are going to Tortola instead of St. Martin. I've been reading about St Thomas and St John excursions.

Last time we took taxi's on our own to beaches in St. Martin (can't remember which one for the life of me) and St. Thomas. In St. Thomas we went to Coki Beach and Coral World. Coral World was neat, and the kids loved the huge waves at Coki beach. The waves were so big the day we were there, that sitting in beach chairs and relaxing wasn't easy because the waves came all the way back to the chairs every 10 minutes or so.

This time we are going to try the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel, I've heard great things about it. If you are just looking for a beach, I've read great things about Maegan's Bay and Trunk Bay. The pictures of both of them look gorgeous. The Water Island Mountain Bike Adventure also gets great reviews.

My inlaws are going to be with us and they are not beach people. I think they're going to go on the St. John Island Tour which also gets very good reviews.

We did a Carnival cruise + WDW trip this past December.
Sorry, but I don't have much to tell you on what you specifically asked about, but something you may not have considered is transfers. I think Disney includes transfers if you book airfare through DCL. Otherwise, you are on your own (or can pay for them).

ANYWAY, I had a great deal of trouble finding transfer companies that were both affordable AND had some online reviews. I was a little concerned about choosing a place with no reviews.

Well, long story short, I took a chance and decided to use TWR Limos. The owner/operator Paul was great, the limo was great, and the price we got was very competetive (for 5 people, about 1/3 less expensive than transfers through the cruise line).

You can get out a bit cheaper by renting a car, but it was raining when we arrived, and I was relieved to not have to worry about driving in rain, finding where I was going, etc..

We saw the Wonder when we were in Port Canaveral and parked right next to it in Nassau. I'm sure you'll love your Disney cruise!
