play stay dine- pofq question

just wondering if any members in the usa was able to get this deal at pofq. the reason i'm asking is because i know pofq was offered to uk travelers with this deal plus a gift card but i had to switch from pofq to pors to get the deal . i don't know if i just was late trying to get aaa to revise my trip with this deal or it was not offered to usa travelers.

I tried to get reservations at POFQ with the Visa Eat, Dine, Play early release. The Disney agent said the offer only included king-bed rooms at POFQ. We have 3 in our party, so I asked if I could get a trundle bed with the king-bed room. She said no, I would have to book 2 rooms. That room only sleeps 2. I had to switch to PORS for 2 queen beds. I made reservations for POFQ months before the release date for the discounted Eat, Dine, Play deal.

UK travelers often get different deals, and are also allowed to stack offers sometimes. Due to the size of POFQ, they often don't need to offer up the same discounts as the other resorts. For instance, the room only winter discount, POFQ was 10% less than the other mods. That indicates they are much closer to their desired occupancy levels, and most likely saw no need to offer the more expensive (to them since a party of 4 with free dining at a mod is often more than the room discount) discount.

thanks it kind of ticks me off the the uk got the offer weeks before us residents so we never had a chance at pofq.
It is kind of the nature of the beast. UK visitors tend to stay longer and spend more than people from the US so Disney will often offer them promotions superior to the ones offered to US residents.

Yea we tried too, in getting POFQ since we already had reservations there prior to the discounts coming out. They told us, it was not available. We had to switch resorts all together and ended up going with Coronado Springs. Kinda stinks as we were really looking forward to staying there but in the end, it's still Disney and I can't be mad at that :)

I understand that POFQ is a nice resort and the smaller size certainly makes it more manageable in terms of walking around, but I love Coronado Springs and Riverside more than POFQ. I am not 100% sure what makes the difference for me, but I love the atmosphere over at Coronado Springs, plus the Business class section is a great bonus, if you can get into this section. Riverside is just so relaxing for me, I could stay by the River and just watch the world go by forever!!!!
In regards to the discount, do keep trying as availability is ever changing. Unless the resort was completely blacked out of the promotion, things may open up depending on how booked that particular resort is for your time frame. Quite honestly I love the entire Moderate level and that is usually my first choice for my own vacations. I think that no matter which of these resorts you are in, you will be surrounded by the Magic and it will be wonderful!!! Marie

I too was booked at POFQ for Feb. When the Disnney Visa card deal came out I tried to add it to my reservation, I was told there was no more availability for my time frame. I asked about switching to a different resort, the CM checked and we ended up going with Caribbean Beach Resort which also saved us $1,201.

I did get the Play Stay & Dine at POFQ. I booked it on the first day of the Visa discount. I did have to change to a River View room. I just think the inventory was super limited at that resort.
