Will there be an email or anything sent about this? We're booked at FQ in January, so we could get that cardholder discount (minus the weekend days I guess). I booked through a travel agent though, so I have no idea if she can apply the discount since of course it's my card, not hers.

I just got an email. If you don't get it I can forward it to you. I don't know how it works with a travel agency and the Disney Visa Card. I know the agents on here constantly check for deals and have it applied to their trips but I don't know how it works since it is your card. Maybe one of the agents here will answer. It will go public shortly but I would want to get it applies swiftly so the allotment for the discount doesn't get gone.

I never did get an email, no idea why. But I emailed our agent about it. TBH this is the first time I've worked with one, but from hearing of experiences with other agents, I think we chose poorly :/ I hate to say that, but she hasn't been on top of things. She just had a child, which is awesome, but I don't know why she took us on when she knew that was coming. /rant. Sorry, probably not the place for my venting :p

Forgive my ignorance here, but if I were to stay at Pop Century during the PS&D promo how much would I save for a 9 night stay on 3 people with PH tickets? Also, do I need to book the DDP?

The DDP is part of the package, so yes.

I figured it was, but was hoping against it. Okay. Thank you. Looks like I'll skip this promotion. We always tend to be paying more lately by using the Disney Dining plan. So I have to assume that any savings from the promotion would be mitigated by the extra money we'd be paying out for the dining plan.

Kind of stinks to see all of the standard view rooms booking up quickly now...All the VISA members booking their rooms before the general public=(

Alright. Here's a game changer for us.

Just before leaving work this morning, I went online, saw the PS&D offer for POR, and snagged it. We originally booked room-only for CBR because the room rate was a lot cheaper than POR. For some reason, PS&D is cheaper at POR than at CBR, so I booked at POR. It would be our first time in a royal room, which mom has wanted to try for a while. I was going to surprise her with that piece at check-in. I didn't bother cancelling the CBR room-only reservation just yet.

But.........

To throw a very magical wrench into things, I noticed that it would only cost $1,000 for us to upgrade to a deluxe studio at OKW. Split three ways, that means only $300ish each to finally get to stay at a deluxe. We've always dreamed of staying in a deluxe, so we decided to go for it. If we're going for 10 days, it makes sense to splurge...or at least that's what I'm telling myself. I called, because I didn't want to make a third reservation and risk screwing things up. The CM was super helpful and excited for us, and seemed surprised at such a good rate for OKW. She switched our PS&D reservation from POR to OKW, and cancelled the CBR one. It all only took about ten minutes, and would have been even faster if I hadn't been a bit indecisive.

We're very excited to try a new resort, which is even closer to DTD/DS, and has bigger rooms, kitchenettes, and balconies!!! Thankfully I only had to pay the $200 deposit today, so we have a few months to set aside the balance.

Long live PS&D!!!

Not sure I'm following the logic on this one. We did the same promo last Feb for a 10 night stay CSR (also a family of 3, ds was 10 so he counted as an adult) and saved about $800. Even if you compared to room only discount and paid OOP for food we still saved several hundred dollars. I encourage you to run the numbers before you assume anything.

You're assuming I didn't "run the numbers"? LOL That is all I do when I plan trips to WDW. Thanks for the advice though. ;)

Just found out there is a room only discount for early Jan 2016, not tied to Disney Visa, so I just booked a short stay at Pop for 15% week night rates. The discount was not applied to Fri & Sat nights, as with most hotel chains. Woohoo, Tuesday - Sunday at the end of January with DH for our 28th anniversary!

Sorry. When you said "So I have to assume that any savings from the promotion would be mitigated by the extra money we'd be paying out for the dining plan" you made it sound like you "assumed" there would not be a savings and that you did not actually run the numbers.
