Since spreading knowledge is the true reason behind WDWMagic... lets teach the yungins..

here are some Platypus Facts:

-The platypus makes up the family Ornithorhynchidae, in the order Monotremata (Monotremes in the Class of Mammals). The scientific name for the Platypus is Ornithorhynchus anatinus, which means bird-snout and its common name Platypus refers to its webbed feet.

-A four legged Australian egg laying mammal with webbed feet, furry body, broad tail and a wide leathery bill which lives on land but spends most of its time in water.

-Size 40cm to 55cm and 700 grams to 2 Kg. Females are much smaller than males.

-Swims with eyes, ears and nostrils shut, propelling itself with its forefeet, and using its hindfeet for brakes and steering.
When on land, the platypus turns back the webs on its front feet to reveal broad nails.

-Feeds on shrimps, worms, insect lavae and small aquatic creatures which it locates by electric signals from their bodies with sensors on its bill.
_
-They mate in the water. Then on land the female digs a breeding burrow up to 20 metres long. She lays two soft eggs, about 17mm long which she incubates between her abdomen and tail for two weeks. The young suck milk from patches on her abdomen.

-Young Platypuses have spurs on the inside of their hind legs. In the female these later disappear, but in the male they develop into defensive poison spurs which seem to be used only in the mating season. This feature makes the platypus the world's only venomous mammal.

-Platypuses are capable of many vocalization including a soft growling sound when disturbed, like a puppy, or like a broody hen pulled from her nest.

When the Platypus was first discovered by Europeans in the late 1700s, a pelt was sent back to Britain for examination by the scientific community. The British scientists were at first convinced that the seemingly-odd collection of physical attributes must be a hoax, produced by some Asian taxidermist.

There are only 3 species of montremes (or egg laying mammals) in the world.

The platypus, and 2 species of echidna (Spiny anteaters)

And that was off the top of my head!

Yeah baby, this is my bag!

What a big bunch of myths! Can't tackle them all now, but here's the truth about one:

The Myth: The San Francisco cable cars are the only mobile National Monuments.
The Truth: There is actually a separate list of mobile National Monuments. The San Francisco cable cars are the first entry on this list and for some reason, the only entry that gets any play. The full list is as follows:

The San Francisco Cable Cars

The San Diego Cable Cars

Frankie Muniz

Spuds McKenzie

The San Jose Cable Cars

K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider

The Wheel

A bird

The San Mateo Cable Cars

Gator, Dusty Hayes’ off-road vehicle that changes into a hydroplane from the cartoon M.A.S.K.

Former SAG President William Daniels

The San Andreas Fault

The Jeffersons

Okay, i believe the duck theory has now been disproved.

Obviously egg laying animals dont have belly buttons because that originates from the placental connection between mother and child. Which an egg laying animal doesn't have.

Does that make broccoli a vegetable then? Sort of like how a tomato is actually a fruit.

Toads use their eyes to help them swallow. The eyeball is pushed back by blinking and used to push the food down their throat.
