Planning our 2010 trip

I have been trying to book a room reservation, for Feb. 2010, on the Disney website. I says they are only able to make reservations thru Dec. 31st 2009. If I called Disney direct, would they be able to make my reservation? If not, when will they start taking reservations? Does anyone know the phone number to call for reservations? Thanks.

The answer is yes and no - yes, you can call and book a reservation, putting down a 1 night deposit, but they cannot give you a definite rate. We just did that and I believe they have a tentative rate, and they adjust it for you when the 2010 rates come out. If you're looking for AAA specials and things of that nature, you'll have to call back and request that a few months before your trip.

They typically don't start allowing electronic (online) bookings until the 4th quarter, or late 3rd (i.e. August or later). That's when the publish the next year's rates and announce any new packages or dining plans.

With that said, yes you can call and put a hold on a room for next January (unless they've changed that policy too), but you wont' know what you're paying until August or later. They don't guarantee today's rate just because you book this early. You'll pay the current rates for the time of your actual stay.
