Hey you guys...need some help from some of you Disneyland regulars.

I am planning a trip to DL at the end of July and am traveling on a moderate budget and need to find a nice place to stay. I went to DL for the first time in June '01 and had the unfortunate situation of staying at a really crummy Super 8 nearby.

I would like to stay somewhere that at least feels comfortabel and safe..but cannot afford the DL hotels. I have found a hotel called The Anabella that seems nice and gotten a good offer on a room there...how is the Anabella? Is it nice or scary? :) Also, is it within walking distance to DL? Any other suggestions on hotels?

I am so excited about the trip....any suggestions on how to go as far as planning my trip would be much appriciated! Look forward to getting to know some of you DL folks!

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to CA!

Well, I don't know much about any of the local hotels being a local resident. There are many hotels within walking distance to the park and even more that have their own shuttle service (think WDW Bus system.)

A quick check:
http://www.best-anaheim-hotels.com/hotels/anabella-anaheim-hotel.html rates the hotel #20 out of 114 around the area.

http://reservations.lodging.com/ser...mationXML?netrate=yes&remote=aa&propno=219472 rated the hotel a 3. I checked a comparison of the Super 8 and the Super 8 got a 1.

Here is the hotels web site http://www.anabellahotel.com/anabella.asp and they brag about getting an award in 2002.

And here is a site filled with user comments http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...eviews-Anabella_Hotel-Anaheim_California.html

As far as distance, it is basically across the street - 5 to 10 min walk at the most.

All in all I say it looks pretty decent. Some reviews say you are insane to stay there and even more that say you are insane not to.

About planning your trip - what other info were you looking for?
