Planning June trip - few questions

I am planning a trip for our family, arriving June 13. I just have a few questions. We have been to DL once before.

1. Will Fantasmic, Remember fireworks, and MSEP likely be running on week nights this week?

2. Does SM have fastpass? I remember standing in the longest line EVER for it last time, and it was the same week in June.

3. Will Midway Mania be done by then?

4. I need suggestions for a beach to visit in the area. My daughters are 11 and 18 and the oldest really wants to go to a beach. Should we do the whole Hollywood thing and then go to Santa Monica, or would you recommend San Diego area instead? I am torn, I think she would like to shop in the third st. promenade area but I think they will be disappointed in general with Hollywood.

1. Well, you're going in the summer, so all the night time shows should be running. To be sure, check the calendar over at Disneyland.com

2. Both Space Mountain and Splash Mountain have FP, not sure which one you are talking about.

3. Toy Story Midway Mania is opening in the summer, probably around the end of May to mid-June. So it most likely will be open.

4. Honestly I don't know about this one. I would like to say San Diego because I live there. It's a two hour drive from Anaheim though. I think it all depends on your tastes. You can stay close and go down to the Santa Monica Pier and shop around there, or go down to Venice Beach and shop, etc.

Thanks!!!! I meant Space Mtn, sorry. That line just went in and out and up and down and seemed like forever!! Of course all the lines were a challenge for me that trip as it was the week before my kidney surgery. I finished the day in a wheelchair (which got us great seats for Fantasmic! ;-)

Oh, that reminds me....not having the handicap seating, how far in advance should we get our seats for the show? I want DD 11 who is on the short side to be able to see over the heads.

In the summer you need to sit down one or two hours before Fantasmic. When everyone stands up it gets hard for the little ones to see.

Santa Monica beach is nice. It's not all that close to Hollywood or Disneyland though.

That's true. According to Mapquest, Santa Monica is about 45 min. away from the DLR. Maybe you should try something closer like Huntington or Newport Beaches, which are 30 min. away? Actually it kind of doesn't make much of a difference where you go, Anaheim is pretty far inland so it takes roughly half an hour to get to any beaches.
