Planning a trip

:sohappy: We are planning a trip for APril break. I know that is a super busy time, but I am a teacher and we have no choice. I am looking for advice on where to stay. We stayed at AKL (the first week it opened, we were the first to sleep in the beds!!) on our first trip, and the Poly the second time. We have 3 kids now, 8,6 and 2. I was thinking maybe the Beach/Yacht Club? MY kids love to swim, and the pool looks awesome. What else is there to do? Any advice on other options?

Might I suggest the Wilderness Lodge? This our favorite (have stayed at the Contemp and Poly, too). Its very kid friendly (ours are 9 & 15). The pools are very nice, there is a kiddie pool, large pool with a great water slide and there are usually games for the kids with the lifeguards...and the ducks that love to take a dip, too.
The Whispering Canyon Cafe is a nice place for a family meal (we are partial to the skillet breakfasts). They have pony Express races for the kids and a "clean plate club"...when the kids are finished they are voted in by the other patrons.

We love to take the boat to the MK; its a nice way to start or finish your day. In August we watched the fireworks as we were heading back from the MK...beautiful.
The grounds are breathtaking and its just a short boat ride or walk on a wooded path to Fort Wilderness...another great place for the kids.

If I may, I'd suggest the Boardwalk. They have a pool themed to the old Coney Island. It's got a big water slide themed to a coaster, and they have elephants which spray water. Very kid friendly if you ask me. Yacht and Beach also has nice pools, but the Boardwalk is really nice. You can walk to Epcot from the Boardwalk. And there's easy access to restaurants, such as the ESPN Zone, with the Boardwalk's entertainment district right at your doorstep. But whatever you do, avoid Swan & Dolphin, haven't stayed there since '97 and don't plan on returning....:fork:

The Yacht and Beach Club is an excellent choice for kids. The pool is the nicest on property and you have a character breakfast at the Cape may Cafe every morning. You can walk to Epcot from your hotel or over to the Boardwalk at night for the entertainment.

I love helping with Disney stuff. I have tons of knowledge. If you want, you can email me at civileng68@yahoo.com

Give me:

your age?
are you married?
how many children and their ages?
How many nights are you there?
where are you staying?
What things do you already know you want to do?
Will you be eating out? if so, how much?
Are you on a tight budget, a "so-so" tight budget, or not that tight?
give me all information you can and I'll give you an incredible itenerary and ideas to work with. Let me help if you want. I do it for people all the time. And no, I dont charge, I think it's fun.

Let me know soon, I am going on vacation this weekend and I could have your stuff before then.
