Planning a first trip to DL

I have never been to DL and was thinking of using a travel agent. Not sure of when I should even contact one for a spring 2020 trip. Anyone have recommendations or their experiences with one?

Is Spring set in stone? Because DLR almost always is at its worst in the spring as major refubs tend to occur during that time and night shows go dark take the last 4 years:
2019-Castle gets repainted, lackluster Mix Magic fireworks
2018-Main Street turned into Wall Street for trolley track refurb, World of Color goes dark
2017-Rivers of America closed for its second spring
2016-Rivers of America starts it’s lenghty refurbishment

If you could go anytime other then Jan-May I highly suggest it, especially for your first trip.
