Planning A Celebration..

I'll never forget my first trip in 2004 whilst in MK,there was a young Japanese couple wearing the wedding ears and having their photos taken by the Disney photographer at the castle..At first I thought what a strange place to spend your wedding or even a honeymoon..Of course I now know better,as many people plan a Disney wedding,or a honeymoon,or even renewing wedding vows.Theres birthday celebrations, and anniversaries,etc..But have any of you planned a celebration that is unusual.? ..Last year Mrs Hatter and myself realised that although we had been married for 13 years,we first went out on a date 12 years prior to our wedding. Therefore we planned a 25 year togetherness celebration ( our DS was red faced every time some CM saw our badge with 25 on it ) ..So what have you celebrated at Disney that's unusual.;)

The very first trip was to celebrate my DW being out of the hospital. She had been in hospital for 3 months.
The second trip was to celebrate our first return to Disney
On another trip we celebrated our son's graduation from High School.
A trip in May was celebrating Mothers day and a June trip was for Fathers Day.
A December trip was our gift to each other celebrating Christmas.
This trip celebrates DW's Birthday and our 30th anniversary. :joyfull:
And ALL of the trips celebrate my surviving another year in business. ;) Still alive and well...and sanity in tact.

We have celebrated father's day there a few times. My ds's have had birthday meals there. We've celebrated anniversaries there. But the thing I celebrate the most is every day I'm there with a Y in it's name ( Sunday, Monday, Tuesday etc.). Thinking about raising a glass just thinking about it.
Any excuse! ;)...That Scottish gene is getting bigger every day.:joyfull:..By the next trip you'll definitely going as Figgy McFigment..

While it's nothing unusual, our last 2 trips and upcoming trip celebrate birthdays and the trip three years ago celebrated our girls' first visit. Of course, there were secondary celebrations in several of these. The 2010 trip was a holiday trip so we were celebrating the season. The 2012 trip was just before US Thanksgiving, so everything kind of felt like this celebratory build up to turkey day. The 2011 trip ended just 2 days before DD7 started kindergarten- so a celebration of her starting grade school. And while I noted that we'll be celebrating birthdays on our trip next month, we are also celebrating my 1 yr old nephew's health + I just found out that my dad is going to retire on October 1st (like just a little over a month away)...so we'll have even more to celebrate.

I keep feeling guilty about the money we're spending on our October trip, then I remind myself it's my 50th Birthday present to me! My birthday is the night after we arrive. It was DW's idea to go to WDW sometime in the Fall, but I ran with it. I think she was only counting on a few days. :)
