Planning 50th Wedding Anniversary for WDW original cast members - any ideas?

My in-laws worked at WDW when it opened, and are still huge fans. They have looked to us to help plan an event for their 50th anniversary.
I have some ideas, but I'm thinking the cost of doing anything at WDW are pretty obnoxious. Need someone to talk me into or out of it. ;-)

Anyone here ever done anything like this on property?

Things to note that might help. DVC members, retired military... could help with costs.

Are you looking for a large group to be traveling to celebrate? Are you thinking like snack and a private viewing area of the nighttime show at Epcot. I think travel agents like the one that sponsors this site (@Kingdom Konsultant ) could help arrange an event or maybe lead you to someone that could plan something. Or if it is a small group perhaps a nice dinner somewhere? What did they do at WDW when they worked there, that could maybe be woven into the planning.

Since I posted this, conversation now leaning toward a cruise for them and core family that culminates at the Grand Floridian for the weekend with dinner on Friday or Saturday with everyone. (MIL has said she wants to try the GF.)

Would be 20-30 folks, but only 9 would be from out of town, and those are driving distance. Probably wouldn't include going in the parks at all, but not out of the question. Many in the party still work at Disney. Definitely has to include dinner, most likely on site.

They worked the monorail, so we'd do that, but honestly we've been doing that for quite a while now, it's mandatory on trips lol.

The room is easy enough via DVC - it would just be us and them that need a room. So we are just now trying to figure out best place for the "celebration" dinner and spot to have time socialize. The idea of "dancing" is nice, but they want to be sure that little kids are welcome. No one in the group is fancy... we went to Kobe last time and they thought that was fancy. ;-)

To recap...
Fancy dinner with dancing, but welcomes kids. ;-)
Ability to gather socially is required, i.e. lobby of hotel not ideal
On WDW property preferred, but not required
Most of the party is local to Orlando
