First time posting a thread so be patient and mods move this if it is in the wrong spot. Anyway so was talking to a friend of mine yesterday I believe and we were talking about the Mine Train. He said it was meant to be longer with more show scenes and longer track. While I had heard this before I have never seen the original track layout or other plans. Does anybody have any idea about the original plans?

Next is Space Mountain. The ride got work done to it a few years back but not what was first planned. What was planned for the ride before the budget was slashed. I know this is a weird thread but I love this kind of stuff. Any help would be appreciated!!

The 2009 Space Mountain refurb was to have had a whole new track support system, new track with the same layout but improved profiling and banked turns, silent lifts, new cars with onboard audio, improved visual effects, complete cosmetic upgrade and exterior lighting, and a new main lift show scene. In addition to what we actually got.

One ride proposed for Disneyland was The Big Rock Candy Mountain, which was to be part of the Rainbow Road to Oz (Walt bought up the rights to the Oz books as soon as they became available; I sometimes wonder if he saw "The Wizard of Oz" as The One That Got Away). Here's some art of the Mountain:

The budget was slashed on them, even Space Mountain back in 2009, because Disney had the foresight to know that Frozen was more important.

Single funniest sarcasm post today. Congrats!

P.S. Frozen wasn't excised from development purgatory until December 2011.

New fantasyland was also suppose to have an Alice in Wonderland area as well in the very early stage but that got canned too. There are 2-3 pieces of art work around for it somewhere on the interweb...
