Ok..So I'am enjoying reading Oor wee Figgys trip report and I got to wonder a couple of things..Have you ever planned a vacation that back fired on you..Maybe the ADRs of the trip were a big let down..Or the resort wasn't as good as the last one you stayed at..Maybe the month you picked was hectic with more people than you expected. And one more thing I want to ask all of you that have been more than a few times..Was your last trip the best ever.? :)

I once organised a day trip to a football ( soccer ) match at a cup final..54 people went..46 people came back..2 got arrested during the match..3 got lost in Glasgow...the other 3 got on the wrong bus coming back and were so drunk, when they woke up,they were 300 miles away from where we left off...Never again..:(

I'm anxious for this trip. This will be the first time my immediate family has gone solo. While we have enjoyed having our extended family/friends with us on past trips, it gets a little overwhelming to get everyone on the same page and avoiding offending anyone when you just want to do your own thing. I think we are really going to enjoy the freedom of only having to worry about ourselves. But, I'm trying not to get too excited because I've found from previous experience that if you go into something overly excited you tend to be disappointed in the result when it doesn't meet your unrealistic expectations. So, I'm going into it with the assumption that with less family to help, there will be more work for my DH and I and then I'm not disappointed if that turns out to be the case. On the other hand, if it doesn't turn out that way, then I'll be super excited!

Well, I will say I did enjoy the planning of our big family trip. Too bad it did not all go as planned. ;)
