First thought is "WHY WHY WHY"...but according to disneys official twitter account planes 2 :fire and rescue is coming out July 18th of 2014. How pointless.

You have to remember that Planes was ready to go on DVD over a year ago! Disney changed their mind at th last minut and switched it to a theatrical release! This sequel was already a go before the first one was expected to hit DVD.

And don't knock the movie until you actually see it! It no monsters inc or toy story, but it is a good kid film none the less!
