I'd noticed this on the ticker from CNN Headline News, a couple of hours ago. What I got from that was (and can someone please comfirm), Pixar's stocks skyrocketed because of rumours Disney'd buy it?

Thats pretty much what happened. There was no real news. It was just a rumor that spun out of control quickly. That is why Pixars price dropped this morning because there was no basis for this rumor. Actually this has been rumored now in the finance industry for a little over a month. However, the rumors have not been a complete buyout but actually Disney buying a minority stake in the company which is much more likely.

You can't come here and expect us to follow whatever you say. Most of us aren't that guillible. So far you've created 3 threads, all of which pertain to news that you have no source listed to back up your claims.

I doubt it, Disney is not in the financial situation to buy them at the moment, Perhaps disney would spring for (at least) the 1.5 billion to buy them within the decade, however undoubtedly by then, the company would have grown greatly, as would its value!

TAKING over pixar..is unlikley at best. Cutting a new deal..thats more like it.

Pixar is a LOT bigger than most people realize..worth more too.

AND..pixar will not be moving any time soon either. They just build the new facility where they are now not too long ago..and its AMAZING..and perfect for them.

Pixar's value falls between $6 to $8 billion and, according to most analysts is priced closer to the lower end. It isn't "a LOT bigger" or "worth more" according to the industry and markets.

The question isn't "if" Disney could aquire them but rather "do they want to." Disney aquired ABC/Capital Cities for $21 billion so to suggest that Disney couldn't ink a deal worth $6-8 billion is nonsense.

That's not to say that I think Disney will actually buy them but that Disney could if it came down to it.
