Pixar Place: Where to go from here?

A few weeks back, I started a thread about the future of Adventureland. This one focuses on the future of Pixar Place, an area that obviously already has some huge plans coming and is a free drawing board for armchair Imagineers.

Pixar Place is set to replace Mickey Avenue in Disney-MGM Studios. The only confirmed major attraction for this area is currently Toy Story Mania, a "Buzz Lightyear the next generation" interactive 3D dark ride experience.

What else ought to go into this area? How should the land be utilized? What will become of Pizza Planet and Al's Toy Barn, as well as the Monsters, Incredibles, and Ratatouille Meet and Greets. What ideas for spectacular new rides could go into this area? What types of elaborate theming can possibly immerse guests into worlds of living toys, cars, monsters, bugs, super heroes, French rats, and fish all at once? Has the Backlot Tour had enough? Thoughts, please!

I think if anything happens the first sign of movement will see is Pizza Planet moving down to Pixar Place. This would eventualy make way for something Muppet-ish..say a Muppet Commisary or even crazier...A Star Wars Cantina Character Breakfast...Think about it.

As For attractions I can only see the extension of Pixar Place becoming a Radiator Springs area. Not like the dissapointing "A Bugs Land" Style concept. Some better rides and at least one other big E-Ticket attraction..

A Radiator Springs area would be cool, but where specifically would it go, and how would it be themed to the surrounding Toy Story section? I agree that Pizza Planet will likely be moved. I also think that the Incredibles deserve some kind of a major attraction. I think that eventually around 2010, we will see Pixar Place expand to the current Backlot Tour area with a new E-ticket and some smaller rides, maybe themed to the Incredibles and Cars, the two least-represented Pixar movies in WDW at the moment, besides Ratatouille. I also think a Cars tie-in to Lights, Motors, Action, that complements the show, rather than taking over, like Herbie, would be fully appreciated.

I'd like to see a Ratatouille eatery in Pixar Place, a fancy place but with character. MGM could use another fancy restaurant. There could be a Pixar animation academy, like CA's Animation Academy, where you could animate a CG scene. The Incredibles could have an outdoor show like the Jedi Training Academy, where young superheroes test their powers against villains. Retheme the HISTK playground to Bug's Life, have a Pizza Planet arcade and counter-service restaurant, a real Al's Toy Barn for buying Toy Story toys, and maybe a guided walkthrough tour of the Monsters Inc factory. All the different Pixar movies would have their own mini-area, with meet and greets, and they would transition in increments from futuristic to rustic.

I got a bit carried away there, but whatever...
