This brings back so much Streets of America nostalgia that is dear to my heart. Thanks for posting.
Just wondering, if anyone knows-how much of the existing SOA buildings were used when they were building Grand Avenue? Looking back on Google Maps, there were a couple of building fronts at that end of SOA right in front of the New York facade.

Would've rather it be this instead......But, that's just me...

They have this Billboard up by Echo Lake...It's a shame nothing else is incorporated with it...

I get it, but I just don't think Roger Rabbit is ever going to make money for Disney. Getting the studios together in the 80's was hard enough, I'd fear it's pretty much impossible now.

A Roger Rabbit sequel without a wide variety of toons just wouldn't work and Disney isn't going to theme a land based on a 30 year old movie with no future prospects.

From what I remember just about all of what you see was there before. Just slightly remodeled, relabeled and repurposed.

I have a strong feeling that after Galaxy's Edge is all said and done. Star Wars launch bay will be the new DeadZone. They'll be no reason to even have anything over there since they will have an entire land for Star Wars.

Too bad they couldn't put an animated Mickey ride in that building, given its history as an animation studio, instead of ripping out a classic attraction..... :banghead:

We don't need Roger anymore. We've got Oswald.

At least we WOULD have Oswald. If only the morons at TDO had more than two brain cells to rub together.

From Bioreconstructs Twitter...Shows the location of the access point from TSL To SWGE...

I still feel like it is shortsighted to be closing Pixar Place (the pathway) -- it could easily have been a third entrance/exit to SW:GE which would have helped with guest flow and some of the space along the path could have be re-purposed for continued guest use. For example, the Woody/Buzz M&G space could continue to house a M&G, Hey Howdy Hey! Takeaway could still be used for additional food service, etc. Apparently the Mickey ride is using all of the GMR building, so maybe any unused space could have been used for something like merch or food from the side of Pixar Place.

Just saying that they don't seem to utilize the space as efficiently as they could. DHS is going to be mobbed once SW:GE opens, they could use as much relief values as possible.

At some point, they'll replace Launch Bay will something new, the question is how long it will remain dormant once the inevitable closure happens following SW:GE's opening.

Personally, I'd like to see them tear down the entire old Animation Building plot and create a new guest area (can incorporate the current Animation Courtyard as well) which connects to the RNR area to actually full have an outer loop in the park and helping with the Sunset Blvd deadend.

Users here aren't going to be too keen on the idea, but that area should be turned into a Disney Junior mini-land. Scrap the old Animation building for a Junior dark ride (maybe one that can rotate show scenes as the channel changes) and turn Voyage into a character meet-and-greet area instead of keeping them all outside. Kids under 7 eat that stuff up and Fantasyland simply isn't enough for small children.

I feel Disney is just way to slow in reacting to the changing Disney Jr. lineup. Last I checked they didn't have a PJ Masks, Puppy Dog Pals, or Vamparina meet and greet. Why is Jake still front and center?

I don't think they own the characters to any of those shows (maybe a part of Vampirina), but I definitely understand the complaint.

They do own Pluto, Jake, Doc, and Sophia (and Elena) since those shows are produced in-house.

Ok that explains a lot. If something doesn't change soon then kids won't recognize the characters in those meet and greets. They really need to get PJ Masks characters in there somehow.

The facades that remain are original ones. A new one fills the gap between the facade and the Sci Fi building.
