Its official, Pixar just bought Disney for 7 Billion, Steve Jobs is the majority shareholder and has full reign of Disney.

Its a fact if you look at it from another view.

I think its the other way around, Disney bought Steve Jobs' Pixar company. Disney will still have the power and Jobs only gains a seat on Disney's board.

I think the OP's just pointing out the fact that Steve Jobs (of Pixar) will own more of Disney than anyone else.

See http://macslash.org/article.pl?sid=06/01/22/071227:

The Telegraph is reporting that Pixar will meet Monday to finalize a $7 billion takeover by Disney. The deal, which will be made entirely in shares, will make Steve Jobs the largest shareholder in Disney. This is the beginning of major things not only for Disney, but the movie industry as well as Apple, its online content biz, and the Macintosh. Not a bad payoff for an initial $10 million investment. Congratulations, Mr. Jobs!

Steve Jobs now has the most shares... NOT a mayority of shares... :lookaroun
ie. If he would own, let's say 51% of the shares, then he would have the mayority in shares... but he hasn't... :D

Not disagreeing with anyone. It is interesting though -- I wonder what influence Jobs will have given a seat on the Board and being the number 1 shareholder.

This tidbit from the press release may be even more significant:

John Lasseter will be Chief Creative Officer of the animation studios, as well as Principal Creative Advisor at Walt Disney Imagineering, where he will provide his expertise in the design of new attractions for Disney theme parks around the world, reporting directly to Iger.
