Was at WDW last night ,crazy crowd levels and I seriously thing Brazil is empty now...lol. I have never noticed the mermaid music and skeleton at the beach scene before, how new is that?

Not only the skeleton and music but sounds like you missed them swimming by your boat. My wife missed them the first ride through too. Heres a clip of what I'm talking about. They take turns on either side of your boat.

i didnt notice it either when we were there last december

When we were there in June, the swimming mermaids were sometimes working, sometimes not. I was the only one in my family who knew what they were supposed to be. Everyone else couldn't figure out what was with the light blobs on the water.

It's about a year or so old now but it doesn't work all the time. For me, it was a hit or miss with it while riding Pirates and I think I rode about six times during the trip.

Bummer it doesn't work all the time. We rode a couple times in February and didn't see it.

Went in November, it worked. Went in March, didn't work. It's kinda hit or miss.
Edit: It might've been the other way around lol

When the mermaids in the water are working, it is the creepiest thing at the park...

Its not always working and unless you are sitting on the side you might not even notice them when the effect is working.
