I finally caught the new WDW "Pirates of the Caribbean" TV commercial that cross-promotes the ride and the film.
Considering it was probably a last-minute idea that probably wasn't given much budget, I think they did a decent job.
I respectfully disagree with people who describe it as "cartoon-ish". It is obviously fashioned after a 1930's B-Movie trailer, with the "Adventure" font and the over-excited narrator (the same type that would exclaim "Will our hero escape in time? Will he save the damsel in distress?")
You can tell the images are both brand-new and canned footage from the 1968 TV special "From Pirates of the Caribbean to the World of Tomorrow" (which I hope they include in the Pirates DVD!)
It certainly isn't an award-winning commercial. But it sure is a nice break from "Natazu", "Who are these master's of the road?" (Test Track), and other WDW commercials that run repeatedly here in Orlando.
