I'm not sure if this has been tossed around here before, but on or about September 6th, to about early December, Pirates of the Caribbean will be closed for refurbishment.

I don't know of any show enhancements coming (I would assume there would be some), but the focus will be on repairing the faux rockwork and tree supports (as well as waterproofing them), and installing water circulation/treatment pumps. If I find out any more information regarding the refurb, I'll update this post.

Yeah, "Pirates" being down pretty much killed my nascent plans to maybe, somehow get back to Disneyland this fall.

If "Pirates" is down, along with "Indy" (mid-Sept. refurb, I believe), along with "Mansion" going down for its holiday transformation, plus the Matterhorn still being on the "fritz," and talk of Space Mountain also having some fall downtime, I just don't see the point in visiting during practically the whole months of September and October.

That definitely will put a hold on any potential visits late this fall. Is the Indy refurb confirmed? I didn't see it on the DLR website...
