Well, I just watched Pirates AWE and enjoyed it once again. I bought the 2 Disc edition at Best Buy so that I could get an extra bonus disk offered there for free! :sohappy:
I was wondering if anyone else who has the DVD is looking for commentary but cannot find one. Am I just looking in the wrong place or did they not make one for this DVD. Any ideas? Thanks!

I also bought the two disc one at BestBuy so that I could get the Teague figure.

I thought I heard the commentary was only on the "special" 2 disc version from WalMart. I could be wrong though.

It is definitely frustrating that they make so many exclusive versions!

Yeah, there is no audio commentary on either version.

That's a shame. I was really hoping for another one by Keira Knightley because she was hilarious on the Black Pearl DVD.

I hear there is a "Pirates FAQ" section that attempts to answer some questions and try to make up for the lack of a commentary.

I haven't heard what deal Wal-Mart is doing.

Anyone know when the Annual Passholders can expect they're Pirates 3 DVD and Frame Set in the mail?

I am really enjoying the DVD right now. The movie's great, and the special features were really facinating. Is there any word on how well they're selling right now?

Well, a day after the DVD was released I already saw a trailer that said it was the #1 selling DVD.

Does the DVD have a specially made short film? Something named along the lines of "Matrimony in the Brethren Court" or something like that?

I heard it somewhere, but other places don't mention it.

There seems to be a lot of discrepancy in the descriptions of the features of the DVDs for some odd reason.

I'm actually kinda disappointed with the DVD extras. There isn't a lot of cast interviews/behind the scenes stuff. It's all special effects and how they did it.

My favorite parts: the bloopers (love seeing the actors mess around and have fun being themselves), the Tale of Many Jacks (it's all about Jack, need I say more?), and The Maelstrom (seeing them film inside the warehouse).

The Curse of the Black Pearl DVD had a ton of extras, including DVD-ROM features.

It seems a lot of DVDs are getting away from those exclusive computer features. I wonder why.

But I'm dying to know: can anyone tell me if there is or was supposed to be a short film made exclusively for this DVD? I read it some places, yet other places didn't mention it at all.

It seems that way to me too. That's a shame really, because the special features were the main reason why I got a DVD player in the first place.

I think I have your answer. I was looking at the sneak peaks on the DVD and and watched the advertisement for the first two movies coming out on blue-ray. It advertised a new special feature for a virtual liar's dice game which has interactive footage of the pirates from the movie ( namely Marty, Pintel, and a bunch of the extras ) playing the game.

No, that's not it.

I read specifically it was a special short film made exclusively for the DVD. It was called something like "Matrimony in the Brethren Court," or something along those lines.

Does anyone know what I'm refering to?

I watched a few minutes of a Brethren Court thing on the DVD.
It talks about each Pirate Lord and tells their story.
Is that what you're talking about?

I don't know.

I've been left in the dark because I'm still waiting for Disney to send me the DVD along with the free frame set.

I can't remember where I read it because unfortunately I kept reading so many different things from various sources about the special features.

But from the way it sounded, it was an actual short film with an original story.

I assumed it had something to do with the relationship of Will and Elizabeth.

Has anyone else read about it or know what I'm talking about?

As someone who is POTC obsessed, I am a little disappointed in the extras...I think it's awful there are no commentaries....And I can't stand the FAQ sheet...I've never seen that in a dvd before...I don't need anyone to explain the movie to me, I get it...
I just think for the end of a trilogy, the extras were a little lame.
I have both the regular 2-disc and the Blu-ray....The film does look gorgeous in Blu-Ray.

You might have got it, but a lot of people were confused with the movie. That's why they added the FAQ sheet.

I agree...the extras are dissapointing.

They're probably holding on to more extras for the special super platinum extended collectors edition dvds.
