Bon Jour from Paris... We are from California and we visited Disney Paris and the Pirates of Carribean ride took me aback with its vast difference. My lady said nope, it is the same as Disneyland... now, I need to hear from many of you to see if I am right or not... at Disney Paris, the ride goes up at the beginning and then goes down at the end. I told my lady that at Disneyland, the ride goes down at the beginning and then goes up at the end... It is attributed to the limited land space in Disneyland so they dug down to add the new attraction. Thanks and Bon Soir...

Clarification

Maybe I should be more clear...

When they closed DL version for remodeling, what did they do?

What was the original version of the ride in terms of the direction at the beginning? And what is the current version?

The DL ride (the way the boats travel) is still today the same as when it first opened. With the bayou first, then the skull and crossbones that leads to the first drop, followed by the second. Then the whole ride then the lift hill back up.

As for when Pirates went down for its rehab, the biggest change was the addition of Jack, Davy Jones and Barbossa, along with the new and improved lighting and sound.

Oh I highly recomened this video, its the history of the attraction and also explains the drops and such.

Hope that helps a little :) Welcome to the boards!

There is no change in physical layout or operation at either park. As Nemofinder said, the last rehabs were general service and the addition of the movie characters, providing for both major and minor scene overhauls.
