Pirates New Queue Update?

Sounds like they don’t want construction walls up during the 70th. I imagine as soon it’s over those walls will go up around Port Royal.

If this is the case, they better start doing something in the hub.

It's hard to see the utility of using Port Royal Curios as extended queue for Pirates unless the Royal St. Veranda (in red) goes away to allow a connection to the existing queue...and to devote its outdoor seating as additional queue space.

But even then, it's a modest amount of square footage to add for queue, and the project seems questionable as to whether it's worth losing a quick-service food location and retail. The only way it really makes sense to me is if this is all to allow for a staircase connection (inside Port Royal) to the Dream Suite/Disney Gallery/apartment space above, where the queue would continue, allowing for a more comprehensive solution to the Pirates queue problem.

I don’t know if their logic in a queue re-route is to add a bunch more space, but rather to make it so that the main pathway in front of the attraction’s current queue doesn’t get so congested. With that goal in mind, a more modest footprint to rework into queue space probably gets the job done enough.

So any news? Just went in POTC yesterday. The line was 40 min and the extened line went all the way to Tiana’s Palace. This makes it really hard if you want to go to Big Thunder because you have to go all the way around extended queue or over the POTC bridge which is flooded with the ride queue as well. It’s just such a pain and an eyesore, I really wish Disney kept to their word to take Genie plus off but one can never trust Disney.

On a side note: I say good riddance to LL. It doesn’t draw enough times to keep it. And it is a highly high capacity attraction. I remember getting on it when it was only 5 minutes for standby but there are still guest using it for their 11:00 PM reservation times. How unnecessary is that?

If Disney was honest, they wouldn't start Lightning Lane until about 10 AM and they'd end it at like 10 PM for 90% of attractions that use it.

After watching the second Fantasmic, we went to the HM. The LL started backing up while we walked right on. People just kept lining up for their LLs and they could see us walk right up the stairs. It's funny how people love standing in lines.

Maybe they thought you were in an extra special lightning lane.
