Dinosaur was in production while this ride was being designed and built so they tied the attraction to the film before it was even released, but they just gave the ride a different name. They could have picked from any number of Dinos to "save" the rover, they picked an Iguanadon because he would be a featured dino in the movie. They chose other dinos to be featured in the ride because they were also shown in the movie.

Probably so, I didn't really mean to say coincidence it was just the 1st word that popped into my head. I was just trying to make the point that it wasn't added after Dinosaur came out. Sorry for the confusion.

I hope that if they put Johnny Depp in Pirates...that he doesn't end up like Ellen of at Energy. She looks horrible in the ride...not to say she doesn't look horrible outside the ride but still it bear no resemblance other that the blonde hair.

I was thinking about this today, if Pirates is a success at the movies, which I think it will be, and the Haunted Mansion is a success will Disney alter the rides to reflect their movie counterparts? Has anyone heard anything like this, if their are rumors of this happening? I for one would be against changing the rides to be more adaptive of the movies, they are classics.

Hmmm I'd really be surprised to see if they change the ride. You can tell in the movie that Bruckhiemer holds the ride in a great deal of respect.

But since this movie is much edgier than the ride, maybe they'll go back to the original chase sceen where the pirates are chasing the women instead of the women chasing the pirates!

And while you're at it, bring the guns back to jungle cruise!

if disney wants to be safe about it...they won't change either ride. HM alone has sites dedicated to it all over the internet and sucha following that much like JII, there will be an uproar and outcry for the original to be put back in. PoTC and HM are two of the many that should be left untouched...unlike TR, they still pull in the crowds. Tiki was a show that i saw once and didn't see again until they added Iago and Zazu and i still haven't seen it since then, so a total of 2 times out of the 13 that i've been there. HM on the other hand and PoTC, every time. it would be really dumb of Disney to change those rides. Update the technology sure, but to comletely renovate to reflect the movie? No way...you don't see steve Guttenberg in ToT do you?

Lawsuits? I'm not sure that you can sue Disney because they changed your favorite ride. I'm assuming that's how you meant it, if I misunderstood, sorry.

not lawsuits, i think he meant complaints...eventually that could lead to something bigger. like i said it would very dumb of disney to remove or change those two classics.

it's one thing to change a classic that is decreasing in popularity, it's another to change one that isn't. they better have learned their lesson from JII.

Don't forget about The Country Bears! (Yes, I know that they aren't a "ride," but they are a WDW attraction that a movie was based on).

HM

Ya know, the Disneyland Haunted Mansion is modeled after a real house in Savannah. It's beautiful, and real people live there! What a perfect setting for the movie. can't wait!

The Movie is out in theaters now. I haventn't saw it yet but my 10 year old sister said it was good and my friend said that it was funny. If you saw it yet can you tell me how it was.

I went and saw POTC last Friday night and its awesome in my opinion. What I wouldnt mind seeing is maybe WDW adding some sort of queing area movie or snipett with maybe Depp or Bloom or a combination. Maybe the same with HM. These rides are classics and shouldnt be altered from their original content but maybe something to reference the movie to tie it all together. It wouldnt have to be much but just something"new" to keep you occupied while you wait. Maybe show the little piece that they show at the end of POTC after the credits.
