Just read a review with pictures. I have never stayed there but the review was just okay.

myself and my girlfriend visited WDW for the first time in january this year, we stayed in CB and although we booked a standard room we ended up in a pirate room (lots of CB was under renovation during our stay) the beds are really good design, and the flying dutchman on the wall in the bathroom is a good addition but unless you have a big pirates fan i would say the extra cost for the pirate room could be spent during your stay in other ways that would have a greater impact on your holiday.

Another thing to keep in mind is that those beds will stay doubles while the rest of the resort has been upgraded to queens. The rooms are cute if you have young kids, otherwise, I wouldn't pay more to stay in them.

We stayed there for the Halloween party last year.
I don't remember there being any extra cost over our other options, probably because Trinidad South is located so far from everything else.
It was amusing in a gimmicky kind of way, though not something we'd bother to do again. I liked the mini-fridge hid inside a hinged "barrel".

Fab theming and very lush, beautiful resort. Rooms feel spacious and pirate beds are very cool. Carpet looks like wooden planks and drawers are barrels, lights are ship lamps. We had a corner unit so lots of light and very quiet. Each 'island' has its own quiet pool and laundry room. Bit of a walk to Port Royale but we knew this and knew that we wouldn't be spending much time at the pool or eating at the resort so it was fine for us. Boys aged 6 and 9 at the time loved the room.

We ended up in the pirate room last November (on our Honeymoon, arr) so that we could take advantage of free dining.

The room itself was just okay. The theming was certainly interesting, but I can't say we'd stay in one again.

The beds are full size and the mattress is a little thinner to accommodate the pirate ship frame. They were comfortable enough, especially after spending all day in the park.

The walls were as thin as they could be and the noise from the connecting room door was pretty miserable. We had the pleasure of listening to his father yell at his kids in the evening and the double pleasure of hearing him snore so loud through the wall that it felt like he was actually in our room. I had to sleep with headphones in each night.

The rooms are at the very edge of the resort and its about a 10 minute walk to the pool and food court. We had a car, so we only made the walk once or twice, but it wasn't too bad.

All in all, I'm sure they're great if you have a kid really into pirates. For a couple, there are definitely better options.

There are a few photos in our trip report: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/a-magical-spoxy-honeymoon-november-10-21-2014-completed.896693/

Feel free to ask any other questions you might have!
