weird question. Don't know If I'm posting under the right category or not but my daughter has pins from like 96-98. Could she trade those or are those too outdated to trade?
I just bought a lanyard loaded with pins from 2004 and 2005 (17 total) that we are going to let our DD use to trade with on our trip in October. There were a couple of clinkers that were non-Disney on there but well worth the $23 I paid for it on eBay. It was a private seller and not one of the ones loaded with bogus pins...watch out for those folks! She already has one loaded with pins from our trip two years ago but we would like to let her keep a lanyard from each trip for memories. Glad to hear nobody is going to turn their noses up at trading with her for the older pins.
CMs will definitely take them in trade, and some guests may as well. The older ones tend to be scrapped less, and may be worth more in a trade with pin collectors. Just be wary of any sharks trying to trade for something that may be worth more.
many people prefer the older pins to the newer ones, as long as they are official Disney pins you are good to go.
My kids & I have many retired pins and seek them out
