This may seem weird, but does anybody ever remember the Cinderella castle being pink with fluffy cloudlike things on the outsides? I think this was for the 25 year anniversary, but I don't really remember it.

Oh Ok. That makes waaay more sense now. How long has Disney been around then? About now shouldn't it be 38 or 39 years old?

I and many others have been trying to forget that abomination.

They converted the castle to a cake for the 25th anniversary of Disney World.

Oh it was a cake? I get it now. It looked sorta funky. I didn't really mind it, but I do like the original waaaaay better.

Yes for Disney Worlds 25th Anniversary the Castle was done to look like a big birthday cake. Also, they had it where you could get a type of pin to say when your first visit to WDW was. We still have ours. My mom loves to go during these types of celebrations and such. Cant wait till she sees all the mickeys...

Oh right. I remember those pins. I have mine also. It says Guest of Honor 1993. Actually, they had a different year, so I had to scratch it out and write in 1993.

Yes, the castle was painted as a pink cake for the 25th. Anniversary for Disney World. The cake was up for a year, and then they took it down thank god.

Meega, nala kwishta!
Yea, we were there for that a few days after the 25th party started in Oct of '96. We had no idea about the castle change, so it was a bit of a shock for us. This was the first time back to Disney for me in a while, and I wasn't such a nut about Disney back then.

We didn't really care for it much, but you could walk around to the back side and see the castle in it untouched state, they only "pinked up" the front side.
