Pin Code Questions

I got a pin offer in my email today (yay!), but it is for the beginning of the year and our trip is for christmastime next year (boo!). I have never received one before so I had a few questions...

1. To access the code I had to put in my maiden name and former house's zip code. If I wanted to book with it would they still accept it? Those things were what I had initially set up my MDE with, but both my last name and zip have now changed. My address is up to date in MDE too, so I don't know why the pin pulled from that information.

2. Should I call and have them make sure my info is up to date? Would that affect my ability to get future pins? I know there is no set way to get a pin, but if that combo worked this time maybe changing could affect getting a future one?

3. Since I got a code for the first half of 2017, are my chances good for getting one for the second half as well?

4. Should I just book a trip for the first half of 2017 as well (haha joking...kind of)

I also got that pin code and I'm actually in the same boat is you. I'm planning on going winter 2017. That said I would consider my self lucky if I got another pin code for the second half of the year.

I'm unable to change my dates but if your able to I'd definitely consider it. If your getting pin codes under your maiden name maybe you don't want to mess with a good thing. I do get them quite often (at least one a year) and I thought that was the norm but many people on here state they never get one.... I'd leave it be.

We are planning to go for all the christmas things so no changing this trip. Although it does make it tempting to add something quick for the flower and garden! I guess if i get one for the winter dates i will call and see if it works! After a little more research it seems this was a pretty commone one to get, with a lot of ppl mentioning that they had to put in name and zip codes that were 10+ yrs old! So strange.

Only Disney marketing knows. I have known people to never get a pin, and some get 2 or 3 a year.

Be sure to visit the Disney site and request a vacation planning DVD and to opt in for any newsletters that they send, that will increase your chances.

I would love to go to Flower and Garden but it's not going to happen for me either. Maybe once my money suckers (my wonderful children) leave the nest then I'll be able to make some impromptu trips to Disney like @Tuvalu :D
