It's short hand for trip reports, for when you don't want to type out someone in your party's name. It does actually mean "Dear" and always has, but since it's so common amoung Disney websites people have come to assume it means "Disney Daughter" etc..
To kind explain why.. If i came online, and said "My husband Mike, and my daughter Sally rode Test Track while I took my son Trevor to Energy because he's too short for Test Track." With those names and the hometown, it'd be fairly easy for someone to figure out exactly who someone is. In the information age, that's not cool.

I think that we should start abbreviating everything. Like this sentence should be spelt like this - LTSSBSLT.
Seriously though, the list of abbreviations is ridiculous, anyone who has them all memorized is my hero.

yes, but, you have to remember... a lot of us are cast members, and we use these abbreviations all the time. it's more common for me to think of ToT than Tower of Terror... haha. but i completely understand where you are coming from.:wave:

Although I said that they are hard to memorize, I know most of them by heart, and the ones I don't know I can figure out.

I doubut it - imagine typing out There`s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow several times in a reply. It`d be more like lines back at school.
(lines as in writing the same thing dozens of times, not standing in libe... you know what I mean)
