Hi everyone,
My dad has offered to buy me any graphic editing program regardless of price, because he needs me to help him make designs for the t-shirts he sells at his sports store. I have tried many free trials, and the ones that I really liked are Adobe Photoshop CS and Macromedia Fireworks MX. Fireworks is cheaper AND can make animations, but honestly, I'm not sure if you can do as many things on it as you can with Photoshop.
Which one would you recommend?
Keep in mind I WON'T just be making designs for t-shirts, i will be making many other things also (among many other things, digital media contest entries)
Thanks!
-Kevin

Photoshop. No contest.

You actually get 2 programs when you buy it..Photoshop and ImageReady. Imageready is used to make animations ;)

In the end, theres little you CANT do with photoshop. Its the #1 graphics program for good reason ;) (not to mention there are TONS of websites dedicated to it that provide help/tutorials which come in handy)

To quell the cost of Adobe Photoshop®, one may be able to purchase previous versions of the software, with nearly all the same capabilities you would need...

But yes, go with Adobe Photoshop®! :)

Photoshop is more of an image editing program with some vector tools. Fireworks is almost all vector tools.

But I would have to agree Photoshop CS is the way to go!

Hint - you can get Photoshop CS for an awesome price if you get the student edition from websites like Studica.com (Its identical to the regular version!)

Photoshop! Sir Nim's advice is good as regards keeping your budget down - I've seem older versions at a fraction the price of the latest.
