Hi everyone! I'm not sure what exactly it is called, so I apologize for my poor choice in title of this posting.
I've been to Disney World several times, now i mean, several!
I do look online and I notice people taking photos, such as tinkerbell or sebastian, holding certain characters on their palm of their hand or next to them or something.

I checked and thought it was maybe my Disney experience photo maker.

What exactly is it called? & am I able to just take a few pictures and purchase them without a whole package deal.

Thanks!

It's a "Magic Shot" and you just pose properly, insert a character before you print it and you're done. The Photo Pass photographers will position you properly if you tell them that's what you are trying to do. It doesn't need to be part of a package or anything.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
It's a "Magic Shot". They have you position a certain way and insert a character for you. When you go check your pictures online the surprise character will be there! You do not add it yourself and it's always a surprise. Just ask the photographer to do a "magic shot". They even do magic videos now with a moving surprise character in your shot. You don't have to have the Memory Maker. They will give you a card to look for it online later and choose to buy it or not etc. :)

They insert a surprise character for you and you do not do it yourself. You can use the edit function and add characters to your pics but the actual "magic shot" they don't tell you which character it will be so you will be surprised later. As to why it's called a "MAGIC" shot. lol :)

Thank you so much!!! I can do that anywhere within Magic Kingdom by asking one of those people who work there with the cameras?
Also, do you know how much it costs?

Thank you! Any price information on a photo? I'm guessing double digits...

Your very welcome!!
All parks offer these in WDW but not everywhere in the parks they can do a "magic shot" for various reasons, but just ask and they will let you know if they can or not. Usually they only do them during the day also so take that into consideration. I don't know how much they cost because we had a memory maker the last few trips but they are free just to take them, and if you want to print one or download is when you would have to pay. But you can just look at them if you like and not purchase all of them. :)

You can see all the pricing on the Disney Photopass website here -> https://mydisneyphotopass.disney.go.com/ The Magic Shots are done by the Photopass Photographers and don't cost any more than any other picture they take. However, not all photographers can do Magic Shots, and some Magic Shots are specific to a given area. A good rule of thumb, if the photographer is using a tripod, they cannot do Magic Shots. However, a given photographer does need to be "trained" in a particular shot, so all you can really do is ask if they can do any and see if you are lucky.
