I dont plan on getting memory maker or anything of the like, but i was wondering if I get a disney photographer to take our picture can i still have them scan my magicband and it be linked to my account?

That way i can buy individually. How much are individual pictures also??

Thanks

Yes. You definitely can do this. I haven't looked at the prices lately though. If I remember correctly when you get to the 8-9 range you might as well just go for the memory maker.

Yes... You can also give them your own phone or camera and they will take the pictures for you. If you don't want to pay $25.00 for a photo you can get for free :)

Here's what you do. Even if you don't pay for downloads, you're still allowed to log in and view them for 30 days afterwards. They do this because they figure you might change your mind and at least shell out money for one or two pictures. What I did was use screengrab software to copy and save the pics without downloading. Little bit smaller than a full download, but also FREE.

Bear in mind, this was 3 years ago. They may have caught on to this trick by now and present the pictures in a way where you can't screengrab them.

They have a watermark across them (unless you buy a memory maker or the picture) now the last few years. So you cannot do that anymore. So they caught on to the loopholes. Lol ;)

Those cheeky devils.

The other trick is just to ask the photographer or character attendant to take a quick picture with your camera or smartphone, provided things aren't to busy.

Yep they can of course and don't usually mind, but I can't stand when folks do that if there is a really long line etc.

Which is why I added the qualifier "provided it's not too busy". You could also always ask the guest behind you (hopefully you chatted them up and made pleasant conversation instead of burying your head in your smart phone!).

I know I was just agreeing with you. Lol We always have the memory maker so I never have them take pictures with our smart phones nor do I have mine out much at all unless I need to see what time my next fast pass is etc. It's the other folks usually buried in their phone. Haha! I make my hubby take a phone vacation too being he's on it all the time at home. He's worse than a girl! Haha! :p

I been meaning to come back to this just to clarify current prices..

Download - $14.95
4x6 print - $16.95
5x7 print - $16.95
8x10 print - $20.95

The watermark is actually not that bad so I ended up taking a screen shot on my phone for all the pictures also.

And for what it's worth.. I'm pretty certain I will get memory maker next time. I originally had no interest in it figuring I would take them all with my phone anyways but as it turns out I want all the pictures just to maximize my memories. I wish I could retroactively purchase it just to have them all and save some money (I don't see that you can).

There are just some shots on the rides that I wish I had which is costing me $15/per. My phone also malfunctioned during the jedi academy so I'm having to buy their shots of that as well. But I'd just like to have everything in general now that I see them all there.

You can purchase the MM after the fact but have to pay the full price (not pre trip price) $169 or $199 whatever it is now. Call the photopass line and they can help you if your pictures are still active and have not expired. Or just purchase online yourself and it will be available immediately. Also if your photos are about to expire and you want more time for about $30 you can add another 30 days to your expiration date. :)

I believe this is an example.

Yep that's indeed how they look so it's very obtrusive. Lol ;)
