I think Kevin Yee posted an explanation as to why these fountains were shut off fairly recently. Either that or I read it elsewhere. Does anyone else remember?

I'm not sure what you read, but I asked one of the managers that I saw walking through the area about this a few years ago, and he said it was Disney doing their part to conserve water during the drought that Florida was having at the time.

Are they still having the drought, though? I know there were some fountains at Busch Gardens that were shut down around that same time, with signs on them saying it was because of the drought, and I'm pretty sure I've seen them back on since then.

PS. Thanks for the photos, Steve! :)

I don't think there really is a reason...just an excuse.

I'm curious to see some new art, too. I know the layout of the ride has changed somewhat...wonder what else has been tweaked...

I hope to see the pictures of Snow White Mine Roller Coaster ride!

I don't buy the drought excuse for a second.
Really?
Conserve that little amount of water in a park with three water based rides?
While Fantasmic is still running?
While the Fountain of Nations is still running?
While the waterfalls at AK (most of them) are running?
While Catastrophe Canyon continues to include a deluge of water?

Nah...it ain't because of no drought.

I seem to recall some sort of plumbing issue they were trying to avoid dealing with...

I vaguely remember hearing something about the pipes that are used being an issue for some reason - I apologize for not remembering the actual reason.
