You wouldn't park at the TTC for Epcot. You stay at the Grand Floridian, go through security to board the monorail and then go through it again to enter Epcot.
Someone needs to check to see if they have added an express lane from the monorail exit at Epcot to the turnstiles, cutting out the security tables.

That was my first thought, since I often go to Epcot when staying at BLT - it could be annoying to go through security at the Contemporary, change to the Epcot monorail, and then go through security again before going into Epcot

I don't get how this will be safe? Can't the bus people still bring weapons into the park? Or somebody on the bus could hand something to somebody who already went through? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the legistics without seeing it in person.

one reason is to keep from having so many people bottlenecked and bunched up at the entrance of MK BEFORE any security happens

there are others as well

All entries into the MK are security screened.

This article runs through all of the arrival methods and where bag check is

Bus people are still getting checked same as before.

Arrive on bus (from a Disney resort) and get checked between the bus stops and the entrance.
Arrive by car (or non-Disney bus) and get checked at the TTC before boarding monorail or ferry.
Stay at Poly, GF or Contemp and get checked before boarding the monorail.
Arrive by resort water-craft (wilderness lodge or fort, poly, GF, comtemp) and get checked as you leave the boat dock.

Everyone still goes through a security check, its just now the people inside the monorail (and ferry) have already been checked.

This eliminates the large crowd at the front of the park that could be a risk and also helps ensure no-one can board the monorail with something untoward.

I guess my question is, couldn't somebody on a bus pass something to somebody who was checked at the TTC before THEY get check themselves?

Good point that I hadn't thought of. Alcohol, food, glass bottles, and other "contraband" that wouldn't be permitted at the MK would be permitted while going from resort to resort on the monorail. This seems to be a glaring weak point, though they probably determined this wasn't a significant enough issue.
I guess they just are worried about guns and bombs... and honestly, I agree, they shouldn't be worried about someone sneaking a flask or a glass pipe into the park. Who cares about that when there was a ISIS inspired lunatic that scouted out Disney Springs.

When screening at the gates of the Magic Kingdom last week, could someone who hasn't yet been checked pass something to someone who had already been through a bag check?

The Contemp setup is messy. There is a security point for guests using the escalator, and a second one for guests using the elevator. There is a gap in between the two that allows access to the restroom.

I can't fathom why they wouldn't put the security screening up on South side of the monorail platform. It's crazy long and largely unused
