that is true.. it was on my MUST do list for any person I knew going to the park for the first time.. It's truly one of those things that separates WDW from say Kings Island, or Six Flags.. the current welcome show feels more stage-y with a nice backdrop, instead of the genuine welcoming feeling the train show had.. I never saw another show that would light people up with smiles and even tears knowing they were about to enter the most magical place on earth.. now it's just.. here herd down this street until this song says you can go forth to other parts of the park. I rarely stop to watch shows these days because the quality at most parks has diminished to cirque du soleil wannabes, magicians that are no better than street performers, or cover bands... Disney has an immense IP catalog, and great costumes/choreography.. and with those their shows are/have always been head and shoulders above the others..
Getting rid of one of those classics instead of maybe changing it up with a new song etc is the wrong direction. I hope moving security allows that show to return in some iteration.. I got snapchats from a friend last June of his wife crying during it because she never thought she'd get to the park and couldn't contain the feelings she had watching that little 5 minute show. I still contend, a minute for minute comparison is overall, the most emotion driving show Disney has created at WDW and they dropped it
