These pics help too. You can really see where the trees are going in and the shoreline modification. Does that look like stone on the shore to anyone else?

Well, at least they fixed a portion of the view for the wedding pavilion. I would still not be happy if I had a wedding booked there. Its a lot of money for those Disney Weddings..

I am actually impressed with the small forest they planted to block the view of construction from the WP. I am wondering if the boulders on the shoreline are permanent or just there during construction as an erosion control measure. The white beach sand would obviously be more attractive than the coarse rocks.

And while I think putting a tall building right next to the WP is still a bad idea, I do appreciate that they recognize the need to buffer the view a bit with the trees, which I am assuming will stay past construction.

I'm still paying off my Disney Wedding, haha!

And I think it looks great! Everytime I doubt Disney they show me why I shouldn't.

I was told the parkinglot was going to be on the water side of the buildings. Sounds like a bad idea to me if it is true.

Parking lot on the water side? Seems like it will be weird to have cars there plus it wouldn't look very appealing. I doubt Disney would do that....I hope.

l pics look great but it does look like they tried to cram it in to that small area.

I actually think this is a pretty decent move on Disney's part. It's impossible not to affect someone while doing any sort of improvements, and I think they're at least trying to minimize the impact on the WP.

They do need to continue the trees further along the beachfront so that the entire site is blocked (or maybe they have and I can't tell).

It looks like there is a staging area on the other side of the monorail, that looks like prime parking lot territory to met

I wish Disney would stop spending so much money on more resorts. They have enough rooms. We need new attractions and more themepark expansion. They can't even upkeep all those rooms. Like noisy ac, blown out light bulbs, broken sliding door locks ect.....

These are DVC, so you are looking at a completely different budget here. The construction and upkeep will be paid by owners in the end, and any profit could benefit the parks eventually.

I'm also impressed by the lengths Disney is going to here. It does go to show you just how valuable that Wedding Pavilion is to them. It will be interesting to see whether these end up being permanent changes or not. I actually don't mind the look too much as long as the stone only remains on the Pavilion's shore when all is said and done.

I am impressed as well, because while they should care about these things, they often don't. In the case of weddings, weddings bring big bucks, not only because of the cost of the events themselves, but the dozens (or more) of friends and family of couples who visit and stay in resorts, visit parks, and spend money.

That said, I think Disney is somehow counting on people being so enamored with the idea of getting married in WDW and the pavilion specifically, that they will overlook the giant 7 story building which will soon be towering next door -- dwarfing the pavilion itself and ruining any semblance of a peaceful, isolated location on a beach. Not sure that is the case. I would not be surprised if the number of weddings at the pavilion decreased.
