I'm sure that they will theme the wall some how. At least when it's done the cars on the track will have something to look at.

I just noticed how visible Dumbo will be from the go-carts. Hmmm

Not to worry, that is only Dumbo's backside. :lookaroun

The only thing visible will be a wall and perhaps the tent at the top. As likely to be themed to the raceway as the circus since that section won't be visible from circusland.

Looking at the shapes of the concrete walls they could easily make them look like building facades which would tie in nicely with the speedway.

Or just get rid of it. That's a lot of prime real estate for a mediocre attraction.

Agreed. Cedar Point in Ohio has THREE of these kind of attractions. I get the nostalgia aspect, but come on. This ride was outdated and didn't fit in with Tomorrowland at Disneyland in 1955. It surely doesn't fit in 'New Tomorrowland' in 2011.

Unless of course, in the future, we'll be driving extremely loud cars on tracks and go a max speed of 6 mph and enjoy bumping into one another to annoy each other. In which case the attraction is a central part of the theme of Tomorrowland and can't be removed.

Wouldn't it be sweet though if they rethemed the speedway to the Tron films with the option of riding in Light Cycles or Light Runners? Imagine the lighting at night and if they added mufflers and piped in sound effects to the cars? That would be great in my opinion!

I wonder if Tomorrowland Speedway will be next up for a remake.
Should have been redone several times by now. Badly in need of electric cars and new, futuristic theming. Otherwise....bring on the bulldozers.

Would make a lot of sense to retheme that attraction around Cars.
No. No it wouldn't.

NO! :hurl:

Think about it...
A Mid West town full of canyons, beaten up cars, and cracked roads?
Not my idea of Space.
In fact, I don't even know why TLS and Autopia are located in Tomorrowland. The whole "Go-Kart" theme doesn't really fit in with Space, no matter how much you theme it.
I think Tomorrowland should be up next for a refurb and they should really improve or remove TLS.

Now about Dumbo's queue, great progress! But I hope they will do something about the horrifying view of a wall from TLS. (Or remove TLS.. Hehe)

Autopia is in Tomorrowland in Disneyland because when it was built, in 1955, the United States did not have the interstate system that we know today. At that time the idea of driving on a multi-lane highway was actually quite futuristic, hence why Autopia is in Tomorrowland.

In the last 56 years, the idea of driving on a multi-lane interstate highway has become mundane, but in the 50s it was an incredible vision of the future...a vision that happened to come true.

That said, TLS at the Magic Kingdom is quite non-Tomorrow theamed...but in no way does it need a retheming into a "Cars" attraction. I like the idea of a Tron theme, or something else futuristic.
