^^^You are right. It looks like the pond, in the first photo, was expanded to the right in the subsequent ones. Look closely at the first photo and you can see the clump of trees that became the island.

wev been going since the park opened in the 70's. i remember how open it was, without the large trees and extensive landscaping to block views. i remember some ride, maybe if u had wings, altho id like to say the peoplemover, there was one spot on the ride that had 3 different high speed scenes played on 360 degree screens. to me as a kid, this was the coolest ride ever, i had to look down at the track to see we were still only going 3 mph or whatever it was. i also remember going down for 7 full days. looking at the resort now, the thought pops in of "what did we do for 7 days" being that mk was the only park there.
