So you get the photo CD for free and can print from it? Is this deal worth it? It's $169.95 online.

I am often amazed at what a lot of people are willing to spend money on in Disney World. Photopass is one of those things. For $100. I'll just hand my camera to the photographer for group shots. I would rather not be in most of the vacation pics anyway. I want pics of the kids and a couple group shots. Never had any problem getting those on my own.

I would consider paying $50 for dining and ride pics. But I don't see much value in paying $160 for the whole thing. I'm sure some people will get their use out of it. But to do so requires some effort to make it a value. Effort I'm not willing to make when I can just as easily take my own pictures for free.

Effort? Not really. We just stop and pose as we walk by.

In the years I have been with my wife, I'd say I have been in maybe 1% of the photos we have. The others have been of her and our dog. At WDW, it ends up being more like 30% are me alone (solo days to hit up characters), 5% her alone (she has her characters), and 65% both of us. And those really the only "family" photos we get on a regular basis. Yes, they will take the pictures with our camera as well. Which is great for the "we saw the BAH!" or "we saw the BAT!" type pictures. But you won't get candids with the single shot they take with your camera. Unique poses, interactions, etc don't happen unless the photographer already has the camera setup and ready to roll. So lots of our favorites end up being that split second shot when you first interact with the character, which they won't have your camera for.

You must walk by a lot more of them then I do. Last trip, no one even offered me a Photopass card the entire week.
