PhotoPass Plus question

Hey, folks

I searched the forum and couldn't (easily) find an answer to my question. Sorry if it's been answered before, but please indulge me.

Last year we used Photopass plus for the Granddaughter's first visit. We felt it was worth the value especially since we got digital pictures from CRT and Bippidi Boppidi Boutique. We travelled together in a "pack" and only used the one card.

I have a friend who is going with her family (6 in total) and she's thinking of getting PP+ but their group probably will split up from time to time.

So - the question is this - can several photopass cards be merged into one photopass+ account so they can go their separate ways but still get one + pass to merge all the individual ride pictures, etc.? I swear - there is so little information on Disney's website about this it makes my head hurt.

Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

Rick

What you can do if you split up and someone on the party without the PP+ card decides they want a ride picture is writing down the ride photo number when you get out and then going back afterwards with the PP+ card to get them. You have up to 48 hours to get them.

I did this with EE, rode multiple times on the single rider line, each time getting a slip of paper with my photo number on it and after I rode it for the last time, went back and got all my eight pictures all at once.

We did this as well. It can be somewhat of a pain in the rear but its the only way around the problem of splitting up.

I had the exact same questions before we went in June. Just to add to what others have said, you can get as many regular photo pass cards as you want (the photopass CM will give you a new one if you don't have one with you). You can either merge your cards at guest services on your way out, or you can merge them online when you make the CD. Just make sure you don't lose all the cards! It is a good idea to take a picture of the back of the cards in case you do lose them. That way you can still get your pictures with the card number.

They do only give you one photo pass plus card which can be used to get the ride pictures (and some meal pictures). It is a bit of a pain when people are separated and don't have the card, but just make sure you write the picture number down. And you can add it within a couple day I think (we always did it the same day so I'm not for sure how long it stays in the system. FYI we found that it was easiest to go back to the ride where the picture was taken to get it added to the card. You can do it at guest services, but the one time we did it there, it was a little of a pain. Of course, we got someone who didn't seem to know exactly what he was doing so that may have been part of the reason why. But they have to write down your card number, picture number, the time frame you rode it, and what you were wearing (for verification), and they have to call the photopass people working that ride and give them your card number so they can add it. It's just a lot easier to go back to the ride to add it if you are able to. But if that ride is closed, or at the opposite side of the park, it can be done at guest services. It just might take a little longer.

Yes, you can merge several regular PhotoPass cards on one account using PhotoPass+. However, for ride photos you will need to present the PhotoPass+ card to receive them.
I recently saw a post where someone advocated taking a picture of your photopass+ card and having the picture scanned at the ride photo kiosk... any idea if that would actually work?

I tried that and they refused to accept it, I had forgotten the card but had the photo.

Tried guest services in another park the day after when I had the card but they couldn't add it either. We ended up going back and riding again.

For a while, they did. But then they stopped accepting it. PP+ was a strong step toward stopping PhotoCD shares. Accepting pictures of the PP+ negates the no-sharing attempt. Definitely take a picture as a backup in case you lose the card, but you will need the actual card to claim the pictures.

Glad I asked, I would hate to have that as a plan and miss out on something over it!

Thanks for asking this question! My next visit to WDW will be for an Orlando wedding and we're thinking of getting the bridal party to split a Photopass account that can be gifted to the married couple afterwards. (Esp. since they will have to split their time between many family groups and may not get much park time with friends.) I suppose we'll have to take turns with the PP+ card.

(Somewhat related: are CMs and characters allowed to be photographed holding signs? Like a homemade sign that says "congratulations [name] and [name]!"?)
